Human Rights Commissioner, UK ambassador discuss cooperation

AMMAN — Commissioner General for Human Rights Aladdin Armouti and British Ambassador to the Kingdom Bridget Brind on Tuesday discussed cooperation in the field of human rights and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on them, especially in vulnerable groups, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, Armouti reviewed the National Centre for Human Rights’ strategy and priorities for the next three years, including the development of the centre’s capabilities and improving the skills of its staff in the areas of monitoring, investigation, field follow-up, and preparation of research and reports in accordance with the highest levels of professionalism and international standards.
Brind praised the role of the centre in monitoring and following up on the human rights situation and preparing related reports, stressing the importance of preserving the independence of the centre, helping vulnerable groups, and continuing to work for democracy and human rights.
