Human rights commissioner general meets Irish charge d’affaires

AMMAN — Commissioner General for Human Rights Aladdin Armouti on Monday met with Charge d’Affaires at the Irish embassy in Jordan Sarah Dooley to discuss cooperation in the field of human rights, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

During the meeting, Armouti reviewed the procedures of receiving complaints filed in relation to human rights violations, stressing that the National Centre for Human Rights’ (NCHR) unit entrusted with receiving complaints has been staffed with additional specialised personnel.

He also focused on the supervisory role of the NHCR in Jordan to identify human rights violations against Jordanians or residents in the Kingdom, highlighting the centre’s recently launched strategic plan for the years 2021-2023.

Dooley expressed appreciation for the centre’s efforts exerted to reinforce human rights, extending her country’s keenness to bolster relations with the centre and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
