QAIA welcomes Fly Baghdad’s first flight to the Kingdom

Airport International Group (AIG) celebrated this month the arrival of Fly Baghdad’s first flight to Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA), marking the start of four weekly flights between Amman and Baghdad.

The welcoming ceremony was attended by chief representatives and officials from AIG and Fly Baghdad, in addition to Fly Baghdad’sgeneral sales agent in Jordan, Petra Travel and Tourism Company.

Fly Baghdad’s inaugural flight to Amman, which was honoured with the customary “water arch” salute, reaffirms Airport International Group’s ongoing efforts to expand QAIA’s airline network, which subsequently stimulates passenger traffic growth at Jordan’s prime gateway to the world.

“We are excited to welcome Fly Baghdad at QAIA, as this will help us offer passengers additional flight options to and from Jordan,” AIG CEO Kjeld Binger said.

“We are confident that this step will also increase the number of passengers arriving to Jordan, which will not only contribute to the local tourism sector and the national economy as a whole, but will also strengthen ties between Jordan and Iraq in a number of areas.

Jaradat wins PR/Marketing Person of the Year title

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Jordan cluster marketing and communications manager Dima Jaradat’s sustainability initiatives and spinning expertise spelled success, landing her the PR/Marketing Person of the Year title at the Hotelier Middle East 2017 Awards.

A multi-tasking specialist, Jaradat spearheaded a series of effective sustainability and humanitarian campaigns for five Mövenpick properties in Jordan while also promoting the hotels in her portfolio.

She handled the hotel’s marketing work, launching multiple online campaigns for all five Mövenpick properties in Jordan, and expanded these campaigns over multiple platforms.

What ultimately tipped the panel of judges in Jaradat’s favour, however, was her fierce championship of Jordan as a tourism destination, effectively elevating the brand of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts through her well-informed and tireless promotion of Jordanian culture, heritage and hospitality.

RJ launches ‘Happy Friday’ bargains

Royal Jordanian (RJ) is continuing with its offer of more appealing online fares every Friday on its website www.rj.com. to promote RJ’s large network around the world. President/CEO Stefan Pichler said, “On October 27, we will run our super low ‘Happy Friday’ fares to a selection of RJ destinations that span four continents. Just go online to find exceptional prices.

“Since the beginning of the ‘Happy Friday’ campaign on September 8, RJ’s customers are now waiting for every Friday offers, when our airline provides very attractive, round-trip tickets for 24 hours on the website.

Thus, ‘Happy Friday’ sales campaign is now a well-established online sales promotion. Happy Friday has become a weekly Friday ritual for RJ, which has achieved great results since the launch of this campaign, attracting a big number of new customers to fly on our network destinations, and increasing traffic on our website.”

In parallel with the weekly ‘Happy Friday’, Royal Jordanian continues to run highly successful sales campaigns, the last being ‘Crazy Low Fares’ that targets customers in Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which is on until October 28.

British Embassy celebrates launch of Joyce’s debut collection

Figures from across the city’s fashion scene gathered on Tuesday evening at the residence of UK’s Ambassador to Jordan Edward Oakden for a reception, celebrating the brand launch of the debut Spring/Summer ‘17 collection of young British-Jordanian designer Edelina Joyce.

Born and raised in Jordan, Joyce spent six years studying fashion in London at Kingston College and the University for the Creative Arts before working at Mother of Pearl and Victoria Beckham.

Her label, which launched in May 2017, features a range of ready-to-wear pieces with a minimal, classic design aesthetic. Each piece is manufactured in Jordan from locally sourced materials.

Speaking at the event, the British ambassador said: “Edelina Joyce’s debut collection combines the highest quality of local materials with a luxurious, minimalist aesthetic developed through her work with a world famous British label.” 

RJ: Exciting and crazy low fares

With Royal Jordanian’s (RJ) new winter sales promotions, travelling has become exciting and more affordable.

A new promotion campaign with “Crazy low fares” has been launched, with sales starting on October 16 until October 28.

The promotion targets customers in Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. Travel from these countries to any of RJ’s destinations with tickets from this promotion has to take place between November 1, 2017, and March 20, 2018, for a maximum stay of one month and a minimum of three days.

“We are pleased to offer those attractive fares not only for next year travel, but also for November and December 2017. RJ President/CEO Stefan Pichler urged.

 

 

EMP rebrands to Network International

Emerging Markets Payments (EMP) in Jordan has announced that it has been rebranded as Network International.

At a press conference held on Sunday, EMP announced its integration and rebranding, following the company’s acquisition by Network International, a leading payment solutions provider in the Middle East and Africa, in March 2016.

EMP Jordan (which will now operate under the brand Network International) has more than 150 merchant, retail, and hotel partners, in addition to seven banks as clients in the Kingdom.  

Volvo cars launches its brand in Jordan

The new Volvo cars dealer in Jordan, Volvo cars company, has recently launched its brand in Jordan at King Hussein Business Park. At a ceremony attended by Erik Ullenhag, Sweden’s ambassador to Jordan, the attendees were briefed on the future vision of the company.

As part of its vision, the company will contribute to reducing road accidents by designing cars that will mitigate road-traffic death by 2020.

The company has introduced technologies that contribute to this vision, such as City Safety, whereby the brakes must be completely stopped without driver intervention in case of any danger.

Volvo cars produce a variety of vehicles such as sports cars, off-road vehicles, and SUVs, making it among the most preferred brands among modern car brands around the world.

Zain Jordan signs partnership agreement with Al Marji’ Publications

Zain Jordan has recently signed a partnership agreement with Al Marji Publications, publishers of Jordan’s only parenting magazines Nakahat ‘Ailiyeh and Family Flavours.

On the sidelines of the signing of the agreement, Zain Jordan's CEO Ahmad Hanandah commented: "The cooperation between Zain and Nakahat ‘Ailiyeh magazine stems from the company's awareness of the significance of the relationship between telecommunications and media sectors, as both are considered among the pillars of a connected society.

We are pleased to communicate with the magazine readers and offer them our services and offerings tailored specially for them.” Under this annual agreement, Al Marji’ Publications will promote Zain services through Nakahat ‘Ailiyeh magazine.

 

 

Cargill Animal Nutrition in Jordan receives cGMP certification

Cargill Animal Nutrition (CAN) Middle East and Africa in Jordan marked a milestone by receiving the Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) certificate from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority.

The achievement paves the way for expanding distribution of Cargill’s veterinary pharmaceutical products to new markets. cGMP certification is the most rigorous standard that manufacturers of pharmaceutical products must meet in their production process.

As an internationally recognised standard, it is designed to ensure that pharmaceutical products are produced and controlled up to the highest levels of quality. 

Connecting parents & experts once again

Parents and educators connected on Saturday with Jordanian experts and discussed saving habits, schooling and parenting at “Ask Our Experts II”, a follow-up to a workshop series launched earlier this year.

Through a partnership with INVESTBANK, Al Marji’ Publications (publishers of Jordan’s parenting magazines, Family Flavours and Nakahat ‘Ailiyeh) and The Children’s Museum Jordan, fourteen experts led interactive sessions with parents on financial inclusion and daily challenges faced by parents and children at school.

The event was attended by senior officials in the fields of leadership, parenting, education and human rights, including HRH Princess Rajwa Ali, Senator Yasera Ghosheh, Senator Haifa Najjar and former minister Reem Abu Hassan.

At the event, Muntaser Dawwas, INVESTBANK’s chief executive officer said: “INVESTBANK is committed to creating initiatives that allow parents to understand the most effective methods for enhancing child financial literacy in the hope of fostering generations capable of innovation, self-empowerment and positive change.”
