Al Marji’ Publications, ARDD renew partnership

With the aim of providing families with reliable information about their rights in Jordan, Al Marji’ Publications renewed its cooperation agreement on Tuesday with The Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD), now in its fifth year.

Persistent Sentinel teams with KADDB at SOFEX Jordan 2018

Persistent Sentinel teamed with the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) to co-develop and demonstrate integrated command and control security software for use within Jordan, the MENA region and Africa.

The enhanced command and control software will provide efficient and comprehensive integration of various security sensors and systems.

Working collaboratively with KADDB, Persistent Sentinel is an exhibitor at the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) Jordan 2018 conference held from May 7 to 10 May in Amman, Jordan. 

SOFEX provides an ideal platform to present new and innovative equipment and technology in order to deliver swift, decisive and effective solutions, which will help decision makers maintain the security and safety in their countries, regions and around the world.

Lockheed Martin to showcase security, technology capabilities at SOFEX

Lockheed Martin is set to demonstrate its diverse portfolio of defence and security solutions at the 12th edition of the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) in Jordan, according to a company statement.

SOFEX is a biannual platform that includes companies and organisations specialising in homeland security and defence.

“SOFEX provides us with an opportunity to engage with our local partners and to showcase our latest advanced technologies.” Lockheed Martin will highlight an array of innovative defence technologies.

Among those on display will be technologies ranging from tactical aircraft to integrated air and missile defence solutions, according to the statement.

“Over the last fifty years, we have been committed to supporting the security and progress of Jordan through meaningful partnerships with the Kingdom’s leadership and the Royal Jordanian Armed Forces,” said Vice Admiral (Ret.) Anthony Winns, Lockheed Martin’s Middle East-Africa regional executive.

PSC awards management services to EFS Facilities Services

Abdali Boulevard Company PSC, a subsidiary of Abdali Investment and Development Group and the company behind The Boulevard, has recently awarded the management of its facilities to EFS facilities services, a global facilities management company with a presence in over 22 countries.

Under the three-year agreement, EFS facilities services will provide fully-integrated facilities management services for the project, including engineering, maintenance, cleaning and other soft services.

EFS will also guarantee the implementation of global best practices and the provision of high-end service delivery in accordance with The Boulevard’s standards. AMMAN — In a wellness destination known for its healing properties at an elevation below sea level, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea is elevating spa holidays to new heights.

Zara Spa’s new dedicated Turkish bath area – where eight different hammam experiences are offered for men and women – comprises a couple’s treatment room and individual treatment room, as well as a belly stone room.

Other sweeping changes include the addition of a nail studio, retreat lounge, meditation area and healthy menu in the spa’s juice bar. RJ improves in on-time performance

In a recent report published by FlightStats — a leader in commercial aviation data services, Royal Jordanian (RJ) ranked 3rd out of 13 major airlines in the Middle East and Africa region and 8th among 41 global airlines in terms of on-time arrival performance for February 2018.

According to the report, RJ had a great performance in February this year, achieving an 84.53 per cent on-time performance in this month, one position above the same month last year, when it ranked 9th.

In a previous report, RJ had scored highly in punctuality, coming ahead of many international airlines.

It ranked 10th in December 2017 amid the global airlines named in the report. It ranked second in terms of punctuality among Middle East and African airlines in 2017, according to OAG’s 2018 Punctuality League study released earlier this year.

RJ President/CEO Stefan Pichler commented: “…this was achieved due to the collaborative work done by our operations team”.

Fine Hygienic Holding appoints James Michael Lafferty as CEO

Fine Hygienic Holding (FHH), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of hygienic paper products, has appointed James Michael Lafferty as the company’s new chief executive officer.

As of the beginning of April, Lafferty will assume his duties, replacing Salim Karadsheh, who is retiring after 34 years of service at FHH.

Karadsheh began his career at FHH in 1985, when he joined the company as a technical engineer, eventually assuming his current position in 2004.At the helm of FHH for nearly 14 years, Karadsheh worked to shape FHH’s positive, family-like corporate culture, which has helped position Fine as one of the top employers in the MENA region.

Lafferty also boasts an impressive track record of career achievements. He began his career with Procter & Gamble in 1985, and assumed a series of strategic leadership roles.  

JITOA holds general assembly meeting

AMMAN — Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) convened its ordinary general assembly on Sunday, during which the attendance approved the association’s financial statement for 2017.

“Elias Nino Co.” was reelected as the association’s auditors for the year 2018.

Awni Kawar was elected unanimously as JITOA board chairman and Karim Mubarak as vice chairman for 2018-2020, according to a JITOA statement.

In 2017, the association carried out and supported several initiatives, including advocacy-related issues discussed with various governmental bodies, marketing activities and road shows conducted in coordination with the Jordan Tourism Board and supported by the USAID-funded BEST Project, the statement indicated.

Furthermore, 2017 marked a turning point for the association, after 15 years of its inception, during the annual appreciation reception in December 2017, it launched a new brand and logo that reveals a fresh and creative identity that positions the association into a different tier, based on its current and future activities, the statement added.
