Parliamentary delegation to observe Azerbaijan’s presidential elections

AMMAN — A Jordanian parliamentary delegation, including members of both the Senate and the Lower House, will visit Azerbaijan on Tuesday to monitor the early presidential elections, scheduled for next Wednesday. The delegation will hold a series of meetings with various Azerbaijani officials during their visit, which came upon an invitation from the Azerbaijani authorities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Mazahir Panahov, chairman of the Azeri Central Election Commission, noted that 790 international observers had been invited to monitor the presidential elections in Azerbaijan in which seven candidates are competing, highlighting the importance of international observers for the credibility and fairness of the elections.
