Foreign worker dies after being trapped under debris during excavation work in Irbid

AMMAN — A foreign worker died on Saturday after debris collapsed on him during excavation work for a sanitation project in Irbid’s Husn area. Irbid Governor Radwan Al Otoum told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the foreign worker and another Jordanian worker were buried in the trench, which was two metres deep and eight metres long, after the debris collapse. He said that Civil Defence personnel worked to rescue the two people, and the foreign worker was transferred to Prince Rashid Military Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The Jordanian worker is listed in fair condition in Princess Basma Hospital.
