Six virus cases recorded on Tuesday

AMMAN — Six COVID-19 cases, all from abroad, were recorded in the Kingdom on Tuesday, increasing the caseload to 1,224, according to the government.

The new cases comprised five arrivals to the Kingdom — two from Saudi Arabia and one from Iraq — who all have been in quarantine at designated hotels.

Among the new cases were also three Jordanian truck drivers who tested positive at the Omari border crossing, according to a joint statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

A total of 4,781 virus tests were conducted, bringing the cumulative number of coronavirus tests administered since the beginning of the crisis to 616,656, according to the statement.

Also on Tuesday, 24 recovered patients left hospitals, 18 from Prince Hamzah Hospital and six from the Dead Sea's quarantine area.

On Thursday, four COVID-19 cases were registered, including two local infections.

The Kingdom reported no local infections on Friday through Monday, with five cases, all from abroad, reported on Sunday and Monday. 

Two cases were recorded on Friday while 15 cases were registered on Saturday.
