Jordan, Gulf council discuss joint health plan

AMMAN — The first meeting of the joint Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Jordan health taskforce started on Wednesday in Amman.
Saleh Al Mirri, head of the GCC delegation, said the team was formed after the 2014 joint ministerial meeting of GCC foreign ministers with their Jordanian and Moroccan counterparts.
Health Ministry Secretary General Daifallah Lozi highlighted Jordan’s achievements in the health sector, noting that life expectancy in the Kingdom is around 74.4 years.
Participants at the three-day meeting will discuss preparing a five-year plan for health cooperation between Jordan and the GCC, according to Health Ministry Spokesperson Hatem Azrui.
