Himmat Fund bears travel costs of 2,000 stranded Jordanians — Faraiah

AMMAN — The Himmat Fund — a national fund launched on March 31 to combat the COVID-19 outbreak in the Kingdom — has borne the travel costs of around 2,000 Jordanians stranded abroad during the third phase of evacuation, COVID-19 Crisis Cell Operations Director Brig. Gen. Mazen Faraiah said on Friday.

Faraiah told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that those who benefitted from this support were selected after considering their applications in cooperation with the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management, the Foreign Ministry, and the diplomatic missions abroad.

He added that the fourth phase of repatriating Jordanians through land and air borders will continue until July 23 and include flights from Gulf countries, Egypt, Turkey, the US, Germany, Ukraine and Malaysia.
