Authorities begin second phase of repatriating Jordanian students, citizens

AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army on Friday began implementing the second phase of repatriating Jordanian students and other citizens who were stranded abroad as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Brig. Gen. Khaled Shantir, head of airport security and protection, said that the second phase will be completed on Monday and is expected to repatriate Jordanians from 12 countries. Further details will be announced later, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

By Friday night, three flights from Cairo, Jeddah and Dubai had landed at Queen Alia International Airport with 653 passengers aboard.
