AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi, who also heads the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal initiatives, on Thursday inaugurated a factory for Al Mimari Petrochemicals Company, in Umm Al Jimal District in Mafraq, to produce reinforced plastic sections made of UPVC used in the manufacture of doors and windows.

The establishment of the factory comes in the implementation of Royal directives to build 14 new satellite branches in various regions of the Kingdom under the satellite branches initiative launched in 2008, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

A total of 30 projects satellite branches have been implemented since the launch of the initiative, providing more than 9,100 job opportunities, with a target of 10,850 jobs.

This initiative is one of the most successful employment initiatives at the level of local communities, as it has contributed to providing many jobs since its launch.

It focuses on transferring investments to remote areas, contributing to reducing poverty and unemployment and achieving economic and social development in targeted areas.

Issawi, during a tour of the project facilities, listened to a briefing by Firas Abul Saud, the factory's general manager, about the nature of work, tools, equipment, and public safety measures used in the factory, which started its initial production process earlier in May.

It currently provides 65 job opportunities, all for the local residents, and is expected to provide up to 150 job opportunities for the residents of Umm Al Jimal district during its first year of operation.

In Central Mafraq District, Issawi checked on a project of a bakery for Arabic sweets, owned by Loyalty Support Services, which is also implemented under the satellite branches initiative. It will provide a minimum of 150 job opportunities for the residents of the district and nearby areas after their qualification and training.

Issawi toured the project, which has reached an accomplishment rate of about 50 per cent, and listened to a briefing by its general manager Suleiman Maani, who said that the project is established on a land of 10 dunums, with a total area of 3,650 square metres.

While in Baiej, Issawi checked on a project of building a fitness hall and stands for the stadium of Baiej Club, which was ordered by His Majesty King Abdullah during his meeting with dignitaries of the Central Badia.

In press remarks, Issawi said that His Majesty, during his continuous visits and meetings with Jordanians nationwide, stresses the importance of accelerating the development process in various governments, improving the quality of services provided to citizens, and providing job opportunities, especially for the youth.
