Gas prices rise slightly in month of August

AMMAN — The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on Monday said that the price of gasoline during the fourth week of August was “almost stable” compared with the third week.
The price of one tonne of unleaded 90-octane gasoline saw a slight increase from $695.5 in the third week to $697.7 in the following week, the ministry said, as reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Diesel prices also increased from $645.5 per tonne to $660.5. The cost of a barrel of crude Brent oil went up from $70.3 in the third week to $75.1 in the fourth week, marking a 3.6 per cent hike.
The ministry began announcing the prices in international markets on a weekly basis as of July 1, to acquaint citizens with global price fluctuations.
