AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday approved the draft law for the establishment of the Qatraneh Primary Sharia Court for the year 2024, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. This initiative comes in response to urban expansion and population growth, aiming to facilitate citizens' access to judicial services and refine the jurisdiction of the courts.
The Council of Ministers also gave the green light to the legal rationale for the draft amendments to the Law of Blood Transfusion and its Components Services for 2024, which aims to regulate various aspects related to blood banks.
The Cabinet also extended its previous decision on the regularisation of the status of Syrian workers in the Kingdom employed in professions open to non-Jordanians. As per the approval, the extension will be for one year for Syrian workers in factories benefiting from the decision facilitating rules of origin with the European Union, and for six months for those in professions open to non-Jordanians. The impact of this extension will be assessed at the end of these periods, Petra added.
The Cabinet also approved the recommendations of the settlement and conciliation committee related to settling pending cases between 324 companies and taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department.
