AMMAN — The Cabinet on Wednesday approved the drug testing bylaw for 2024.

The bill, approved during a Cabinet session chaired by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, aims to achieve the requirements of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration's (JFDA) accreditation with global pharmaceutical factories certification laws and World Health Organisation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The bylaw grants the JFDA's accredited laboratories a certificate of "Good Laboratory Practices", and organise analysis of drugs and medical supplies in contracted labs, approved by the administration.

During its session, the Council of Ministers approved a bylaw to test medical supplies, sterilisers, disinfectants and cosmetics for 2024, aimed to regulate the testing terms and procedures for these supplies in the JFDA's laboratory, or its approved or contracted labs.

The Council approved a bylaw of shelter centres for persons with disabilities for 2024, which regulates terms for renewing their licences and monitoring measures over them.

The Council also approved the banks licensing fees bylaw for 2024, aimed to set the amount of fees collected by the Central Bank of Jordan from banks, in accordance with the provisions of its law.

Also, the Cabinet approved recommendations of the settlement and conciliation committee related to settling pending cases between 37 companies and taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department.
