AND handles multiple drug-related cases

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel over the past few days handled multiple drug-related cases, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson said on Thursday.

In Jerash, a targeted house raid resulted in seizing 260,000 narcotic pills leading to the apprehension of two suspects, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson said.

In another case in east Amman, the PSD official said that two suspected drug traffickers who are believed to be responsible for promoting crystal drugs in Amman were arrested in possession of three kilogrammes of the illicit substance, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.

In Ramtha, three suspects were arrested in possession of nine palm-sized sheets of hashish, the PSD spokesperson said, adding that AND personnel also arrested four suspects in Ramtha for counterfeiting the JD0.5 coin, and seized a large amount of the counterfeit coins and materials used for counterfeiting it.

The spokesperson said that all suspects and seized items were referred to the concerned authorities for further legal proceedings.
