AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) on Tuesday arrested a suspect who reportedly attempted to smuggle 800,000 narcotic pills to a neighbouring country, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
A Public Security Directorate spokesperson said that AND agents received a tip-off about a plan to smuggle illegal pills, adding that they were able to identify the date for the delivery of the pills and chased down the vehicle used to transport them.
The spokesperson also noted that the suspects involved in the smuggling attempt managed to flee, but the main alleged smuggler was arrested on Tuesday.
