Four arrested for alleged drug dealing

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have arrested four suspects involved in two separate drug dealing cases and confiscated the drugs in their possession, according to a Public Security Department statement released Saturday.

In the first case, the AND received a tip-off about suspects preparing an amount of narcotics to be smuggled abroad. The AND set up a “trap” to apprehend the suspect driving the vehicle containing the narcotics. As he attempted to escape, the suspect was chased and arrested.

The AND confiscated 50,000 narcotic pills and arrested two other suspected accomplices involved in the case. In another case, AND personnel confiscated an amount of narcotic pills hidden inside a water filter in the vehicle of a person leaving the Kingdom. They confiscated the pills and referred the suspect to the judiciary.
