AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Saturday inaugurated the third Jerusalem Festival for Culture and Arts organised by the Jordan Medical Association/Medical Committee, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Fayez pointed out during the opening ceremony, attended by Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Ekrima Sabri, that while "the international community abandoned the Palestinian cause", His Majesty King Abdullah continued defending the Palestinians' rights.
He added that Jordan, which supported the struggle of the Palestinian people, continued to protect and rebuild Islamic and Christian holy sites to prevent the Judaisation of the holy city.
For his part, Sabri highlighted Jerusalemites' attachment to Al Aqsa Mosque and its importance for Muslims, urging the media to use the term Buraq Wall, rather than the Wailing Wall as promoted by the Israeli media.
