AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) on Sunday received medical supplies to Gaza worth more than $1 million from the professional associations.

Jordan Medical Association President Hashem Abu Hassan said the aid includes medical equipment and medicines, noting that association will continue to collect donations for Palestinians in the strip, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

President of the Jordan Pharmacists Association Ahmad Issa said the medical aid was collected from a number of drug warehouses and companies.

The Jordanian Veterinary Association alone presented JHCO with $22,000 worth of medicines, according to Petra.

Also on Sunday, JHCO dispatched two assistance convoys to the people in Gaza.

The first convoy is composed of 29 trucks laden with humanitarian, food and medical aid that will be distributed through the Jordan field hospital.

This convoy is part of HRH Crown Prince Hussein’s initiative to help Gazans in the besieged enclave.

The second convoy, comprising 20 trucks, is donated by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai.
