AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday stressed the need to translate the outcomes of the “Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza” conference into tangible action to unify humanitarian efforts and activate them at the needed level.

During a meeting with Egypt President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi on the sidelines of the conference held at the Dead Sea, His Majesty stressed the need to address the impediments to the flow of sufficient and urgent aid into Gaza, according to a Royal Court statement.

At the meeting, attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, the King called for providing a sufficient number of trucks to deliver aid into the Strip, to ensure enough stockpiles of assistance are available.

His Majesty commended Egypt’s key role and major, ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire, as well as its work to create a political horizon to achieve just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution, the statement said.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, and General Intelligence Department Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Husni attended the meeting.
