Jordan joins OIC anti-corruption meeting

AMMAN — Jordan firmly believes in the importance of collective action in fighting corruption, opening up to the international community and exchanging best practices in entrenching the principles of integrity, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Muhannad Hijazi said on Wednesday.

Participating in the first ministerial meeting of anti-corruption law enforcement agencies of member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hijazi said that the Kingdom adopts an approach ensuring people that public funds are in “good hands” and that all are subject to the law, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The Jeddah-hosted meeting is held to discuss and endorse the draft "Makkah Al Mukarramah Agreement", which Hijazi described as an “advanced” step to realise cooperation, coordination and exchanging expertise among all member states of OIC.
