Biden exact opposite of Trump

May 05,2019 - Last updated at May 05,2019

Former vice president Joe Biden has decided to join the fray of the next presidential elections, which is already crowded, by declaring his candidacy formally last week.

Biden is a formidable candidate, as he is the exact opposite of President Donald Trump on every front, and would offer the American people a real choice between the status quo, which is troubling to the US and foreign states alike.

Even though he is already 76 years old and will be nearly 78 years old if elected, he will still be a strong candidate if endorsed by the Democratic party at the end of the primaries.

Biden is disciplined, statesmanlike, steady and a follower of institutionally-adopted policies of his country. He is articulate on domestic and foreign policies of his nation. Friends and enemies of the US would get such relief if they know that Biden is eventually elected as the next president of the US.

The only missing link in Biden's campaign is who will be his vice president candidate. No doubt he has given this issue considerable thought already and will announce his choice for vice president at the appropriate time.

Without wanting to lecture Biden who best could be his running mate, it would make considerable sense if he chooses a woman as his running mate. Given the names of women who are also seeking a leadership role in their country, it would make considerable sense if Hillary Clinton could be persuaded to be Biden's running mate for the good of the country.

Clinton ran for the post of president in the 2016 elections but lost, not so much by popular vote, which she had won, but because of the so-called electoral vote criterion.

Democratically speaking Clinton should have been elected as the president of the US and not Donald Trump. Under the circumstances, there is no harm in harnessing her popular support in favour of Bien, by joining forces with him.

In a way, Clinton owes Biden a favour! He was considering running for president of the US in the 2016 elections but yielded to Clinton out of loyalty to her and president Bill Clinton. Now, it is time for her to return the favour by yielding to Biden this time. This way, Biden's chances of winning the next presidential elections would be that much greater.
