AMMAN — Lower House First Deputy Speaker Khamis Atiyeh on Friday called on members of parliaments in Muslim countries to assist the Kingdom to enable it to continue providing services to Syrian refugees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Atiyeh, who was leading Jordan's delegation at the 12th meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Mali, also called on Western countries and the international community to honour their pledges of aid to refugees in Jordan. He said that the Kingdom hosts around 1.4 million Syrians, with whom Jordanians share their water and energy resources.
