Workshop held on role of internal monitoring in water sector

AMMAN — Deputising for Water Minister, Secretary General of Water Authority of Jordan Bashar Bataineh on Monday inaugurated a workshop on the role of internal monitoring in developing the performance of water facilities. 

In the presence of Director of the Utilities’ Performance Monitoring Unit Ahmad Azzam and representatives of GIZ and water companies, Bataineh said that such technical meetings contribute to increasing the institutional performance for all the water sector institutions and developing their performance to improve the level of services offered to citizens.

He added that the water sector faces major challenges, which requires enhancing the role of monitoring in offering services and protecting assets to guarantee commitment to proper plans and practices to realise goals, according to a ministry statement.
