AMMAN — Water Minister Raed Abul Saud on Tuesday met with German Ambassador to the Kingdom Bernhard Kampmann and discussed cooperation, German-funded projects and training programmes in the field of water.

The minister voiced the Kingdom’s appreciation for Germany’s support towards enhancing cooperation in the water sector, stressing that the Jordanian-German relations have developed “significantly”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The envoy lauded Jordan’s cooperation with the German institutions, noting that the Kingdom is one of the countries that have managed to address the challenges facing the water sector “successfully” despite its limited water resources. Also on Tuesday, Abul Saud and Iraq's Water Resources Minister Mahdi Rashid Al Hamdani discussed joint cooperation and the completion of signing a memorandum of understanding between the two sides in the field of water and sanitation.

During the virtual meeting, Abul Saud voiced the ministry’s readiness to provide the Iraqi side with the needed expertise, Petra added.
