AMMAN — The UNHCR Jordan has granted 600 residential units to the Civil Defence Department (CDD), in appreciation of the services that the CDD provides to refugees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The housing units are set to be distributed as shelters in various areas across the Kingdom. During the signing ceremony, CDD Director Maj. Gen. Mustafa Bazayah said that the CDD aims to realise His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives, which call for the provision of the best humanitarian services and protection to all those living in the Kingdom.

UNHCR Deputy Representative to Jordan Carolyn Ennis said that the CDD is globally well-reputed for its humanitarian services, especially to Syrian refugees.
