Department of Statistics wins international award

AMMAN — The Department of Statistics (DoS) has recently received an international award for using geographical information systems (Arc GIS), in recognition of its “excellence” in implementing all the phases of the 2015 population census electronically, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.

DoS announced that it won the award during the annual conference of the US Environmental Systems Research Institute’s (Esri) User Conference, held in San Diago, Californian, between July 10 and 14, which saw the participation of international users of Arc GIS. The “internationally well-reputed award” is granted for excellence and the best use of modern technologies, Petra added.
