AMMAN — The UNDP is training staff at the Joint Services Council in Irbid and Al Ekaider landfill in solid waste management, the UN agency said on Tuesday.

The training course covers fleet and equipment maintenance, and management and landfill maintenance to equip workers with all the skills needed to manage operations at the landfill.

The programme is part of a project to rehabilitate the landfill by improving solid waste management and generate income in communities hosting Syrian refugees. The project is supported by the Canadian government, the UNDP said.
