AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel foiled two separate attempts to smuggle a large amount of narcotic pills and heroin, according to a Public Security Department (PSD) statement released on Sunday. AND received a tip-off about a suspect intending to smuggle a large amount of narcotics, tracking his movements and pinpointing the place where he stored them.
The suspect was caught in possession of 1.38 million narcotic pills and apprehended, prior to being referred to the State Security Court. In another case, various suspects hid amounts of heroin in a house in south Amman. AND cadres raided the house and found 7kg of heroin, but the suspects are still at large, according to the PSD.
