Turkish-Jordanian ties will strengthen further with new gov’ts — ambassador

AMMAN — Turkish Ambassador to Amman Mourad Karagoz said that Jordanian-Turkish relations will witness “a fresh leap”, as the two countries’ new governments voiced their keenness on enhancing them further, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During a press conference held on Sunday at the Turkish embassy in Amman on the occasion of the second anniversary of the failed coup attempt in Turkey, Karagoz noted the Turkish leadership and its people will not forget Jordan’s stance with his country during that time.
Karagoz noted that Turkey has since managed to complete its development projects, achieving a growth of 7.4 per cent. He stressed his country’s adherence to democracy, citing the recent presidential elections and the turnout in the parliamentary vote which stood at 88 per cent.
The ambassador highlighted the relations between the two countries as “excellent”, noting that His Majesty King Abdullah and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have held four meetings during the past 11 months and maintained continuous contacts.
