Speaker, US ambassador talk reforms, region

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Abdulminem Oddat on Tuesday discussed issues of mutual interest with US Ambassador to Jordan Henry Wooster, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
On the Palestinian issue, Oddat highlighted advancing the peace process and establishing a just and comprehensive solution leading to the establishment of a sovereign Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital.
In regard to the Jordanian parliament, he noted that Jordan is proceeding with its journey of political reforms to guarantee the participation of all segments and groups of society in the decision-making process.
The Lower House, he added, is willing to develop and activate the role of parliamentary blocs. On his part, Wooster presented a number of future prospects for cooperation, stressing that his country views the Jordanian role in achieving regional peace and prosperity as vital. The two sides said they are looking forward to strengthening partnership on all levels.
