Security closure for Arab summit announced

AMMAN — As part of the Kingdom’s preparations to host the Arab summit between March 23 and 29, a security closure will be carried out in the Dead Sea area from 2pm on March 21 to March 30 midnight.
The lockdown area extends from the Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea to the Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort and Spa, according to a statement published on the summit’s website
The closure includes individuals and vehicles alike on both sides of the road.
Nobody is allowed entry to the area during the announced period, unless they have security permits.
Area residents have to visit the main operations room at the Grand East Hotel at the Dead Sea, some 60km southwest of Amman, between March 2 and 6 starting from 11am to 4pm to receive the necessary permits, the statement added.
