AMMAN — Jordan's Consulate in Dubai is following up with concerned agencies in UAE on the issue of a Jordanian who was reported missing while diving in Emirates territorial waters.
An official from the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs said that Amman's Consulate in Dubai has been informed that pilots and divers from the UAE Army have been involved in an ongoing search for the missing diver since last Monday.
The official, who requested anonymity, said that UAE authorities have been investigating the issue with the persons who accompanied the missing Jordanian diver, and have preserved the diving boat and equipment.
Rescue teams were still carrying out search operations between 6am and 6pm, pending any developments, the official said.
The missing diver was identified in social media and news websites as Sultan Sabha.
Sultan's brother, Diaa, called on his friends on his Facebook page to pray for his missing beloved without giving further details.
