AMMAN — Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Monday held conference calls with heads of the Kingdom’s diplomatic missions overseas to discuss the missions’ measures to serve Jordanians abroad in light of the coronavirus crisis, according to a ministry statement.
Safadi and the mission heads discussed efforts to serve Jordanians living abroad according to emergency plans that had been activated to handle the current circumstances.
Expatriate Jordanians are a priority for the ministry, the statement said, highlighting that the missions are working to respond to the current situations in various host countries.
Consulate services have been cut down significantly to handle only priority cases, the statement noted, adding that Jordan’s diplomatic missions have activated remote work and provide online services.
The foreign minister stressed that the Kingdom’s diplomatic missions are at the service of citizens round-the-clock, calling on Jordanians abroad to provide the missions with their names and phone numbers and follow the instructions issued by the countries in which they live.
The ministry also called on Jordanians overseas to contact the emergency numbers announced by the ministry to access necessary services.
