AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi on Saturday attended a celebratory festival titled "Thank You, Your Majesty", organised by local communities in Hitteen  Camp in the Ruseifa region.

The event was attended by His Majesty’s Adviser for Tribal Affairs Atef Hajaya, Zarqa Governor Hassan Al Jbour and Director-General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs Rafiq Khirfan.

During the gathering, Issawi, who is also head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal initiatives, emphasised Jordan's unwavering commitment, under His Majesty King Abdullah’s leadership, to supporting the Palestinian cause and protecting Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites in line with the Hashemite Custodianship.

Issawi further highlighted His Majesty's commitment to improving services and living conditions for the inhabitants of the camps. He also commended His Majesty's continuous efforts in garnering international support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

The Royal Hashemite Court has undertaken numerous ongoing initiatives and projects in all camps across the Kingdom, including Hitteen  Camp, as part of its commitment to enhancing the lives of camp residents.

During the ceremony, speeches were delivered by Shadi Al Zainati, the mayor of Ruseifa Municipality, and Saleh Al Nahhalin, the head of Hitteen  Camp Services Committee.

They expressed their gratitude for King Abdullah’s efforts in advancing the nation and the welfare of its citizens. They also praised His Majesty's unwavering stance on Arab and Islamic issues, particularly the centrality of the Palestinian cause to Jordan, and his efforts in protecting the holy sites in Jerusalem under the Hashemite Custodianship.

The attendees applauded His Majesty's directives in addressing the needs of the camps in various fields, highlighting the significance of the initiatives implemented in the Ruseifa region.

The festival included poetry, music and folkloric performances, and was attended by dignitaries, representatives of the local community and other officials, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
