AMMAN — Health Minister Ali Hiasat on Wednesday directed stakeholders in the public and private health sectors to take the necessary measures to ensure offering high quality services to patients with public insurance at private hospitals, and those requiring kidney dialysis.
The directives were issued at a meeting with the president and members of the Private Hospitals Association (PHA) board to discuss healthcare services at private hospitals offered under the cooperation agreement of 2008, which stipulates that patients insured by the government can benefit from the services of more than 45 private hospitals.
PHA President Fawzi Hammouri said the major problem of the health sector is the government’s delay in paying the dues of private hospitals, especially those for dialysis which stand at more than JD40 million.
