AMMAN — Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Monday met a delegation including President of the Jordan Association of Physical Medicine, Arthritis and Rehabilitation Ali Rojoub, head of the Pan-Arab Association of Rehabilitation Physicians Khalil Abaddi and Interventional Pain Consultant Ihsan Shanti.

During the meeting, the two sides highlighted the need to “pay more attention” to resort medicine and establish a national hospital and rehabilitation centre to provide services for patients and people with disabilities.

They also attached importance to optimising recently discovered mineral water in Qastal, south of Amman.

The mineral water resource, with “unique” natural and therapeutic properties in Qastal, has curable effects on several chronic diseases, and the area can be developed as a medical tourism location. The delegation submitted a memorandum to Razzaz on developing the Qastal well for resort medicine and medical tourism purposes, in addition to encouraging investments in the area, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Tuesday.
