AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday approved the trading of "Octane 98" fuel, a third kind in the market, and "Diesel Euro 5", which meets European emission standards, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The decision is part of the Energy Ministry's approach to securing different kinds of oil derivatives to meet the demands of the local market in accordance with international standards.
Octane 98 is compatible with modern vehicles, Petra reported, adding that it will be available at gas stations after issuing standard specifications and prices are set by the government pricing committee. The Euro 5 will be available as of April at some gas stations and will be sold at the same price as regular diesel during the experimental stage, Petra added.
