Lower House speaker pays tribute to King Hussein

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi on Tuesday remembered His Majesty the late King Hussein on his birth anniversary, portraying him as a wise leader who dedicated himself to the progress of his country, remained committed to his nation, and advocated for its rights, especially the Palestinian cause. On the Lower House's social media accounts, Safadi said: "Following the steps of the late King Hussein, His Majesty King Abdullah has steadfastly defended Palestine and the historical rights of its people, as a faithful guardian of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities," the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. He added: "His Majesty is now the first defender of our people in Gaza in the face of the brutal aggression."
