AMMAN — A Libyan airplane on Saturday night hit a lamp post at the Queen Alia International Airport’s (QAIA) runway while heading to a maintenance area, an official said.
“The incident was minor and caused no damages to the airport, except the post, and no injuries were reported,” the airport official told The Jordan Times over the phone on condition of anonymity.
He added the airplane was supposed to land at 3:45pm, but it arrived at 6:13pm.
It was scheduled to take off for Benghazi at 7pm, but the accident forced it to stay at QAIA for maintenance.
