Kosovo’s Jahjaga attends panel session on women in politics

AMMAN — Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, has realised several achievements mainly in empowering and supporting women and youth, former president of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga said on Monday.
During a panel session organised by the Jordanian Women Parliamentarians Forum, Jahjaga said that women and youth throughout history have played important roles in the political field, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. In this regard, she noted that the world has recently witnessed a remarkable increase in the number of female politicians.
Aamal Shugran, head of the forum, said that women's participation faces a big challenge due to stereotypical views, which requires changing such opinions to guarantee that women receive all their rights.
