His Majesty King Abdullah meets with a number of individuals at the residence of former Lower House Speaker Abdulmunim Oddat on Tuesday
AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday met with a number of individuals at the residence of former Lower House Speaker Abdulmunim Oddat, with discussions covering a wide range of local and regional topics.
Emphasising the Kingdom's commitment to political reform, His Majesty said that "no one can embark on the path of reform without seriousness", and underscored that reform is in the best interest of the nation.
The attendees included political, economic, tribal, media and academic figures, according to one of the attendees.
The King said that municipalities and governorates have a key role in driving progress, and called upon those actively engaged in these fields to contribute to political reform, while encouraging young people and women’s participation in political life.
His Majesty also affirmed the significance of administrative reform, as it opens doors to further development and improvement, underscoring the need to combat unemployment and poverty.
The King advocated for respecting citizens' right to access information and resolving issues related to information gaps.
His Majesty also reiterated Jordan's commitment to fulfilling its role in the Palestinian cause, emphasising that progress cannot be achieved without a resolution, and urged efforts to revitalise peace opportunities.
