AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, on Wednesday via telepresence, met with an economic and academic US delegation, which is on a visit to Jordan as part of efforts to bolster bilateral cooperation and trade exchange, and stimulate investments in vital sectors.
During the meeting, attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, King Abdullah reaffirmed the strength of the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States and expressed keenness to bolster cooperation, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty stressed the importance of collaboration and the exchange of knowledge and expertise, especially in vital sectors such as food security, water, entrepreneurship, and advanced agricultural technology, expressing hope that the visit would further boost economic cooperation with the US and strengthen academic exchange and collaboration on research and development between Jordanian and American universities.
For their part, delegation members said they looked forward to building more academic and trade partnerships with Jordan, as well as expanding economic cooperation and knowledge exchange, in the mutual interests of the two nations.
The US delegation included Secretary of State of Nebraska Bob Evnen, President and CEO of the National US-Arab Chamber of Commerce David Hamod, and representatives from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yousef Shamali, and Jordan Chamber of Commerce President Nael Kabariti attended the meeting.
