Jordanian peacekeepers refurbish Abidjan mosque

AMMAN — Jordan’s peacekeeping contingent in the Ivory Coast on Sunday refurbished a mosque in Abidjan and provided it with copies of the Koran and religious books.

Contingent commander Col. Salem Abu Ghanam said the gesture is part of the peacekeepers’ humanitarian efforts aimed at preserving Islamic holy sites.

Residents, leaders and mosque imams thanked the Jordanian contingent for its support.
