Jordanian Noor Ghafari is the first Arab woman to complete Everest Marathon

AMMAN — Jordanian Noor Ghafari has set a record by being the first Arab woman to complete the Everest Marathon, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Everest Marathon, held this year on May 29, is the highest of its kind at 42km and is particularly challenging due to the shortage of oxygen and the dangerous terrain on which it is held.
Ghafari dedicated her achievement to the Palestine Association for Children’s Encouragement of Sports, a charity that holds sports and training programmes for children of Palestinian refugee camps.
