AMMAN — The Lower House’s Foreign Affairs Committee met with a German parliamentary delegation on Wednesday on means to enhance cooperation on issues of mutual interest.

Head of the panel, MP Nidal Taani, said that the Kingdom is going through exceptional economic and political circumstances in the centre of a turbulent region, which led to border closures for a long time with Syria and Iraq, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

On the political challenges facing the Kingdom, the MP referred to the unilateral and provocative Israeli measures against Palestine. He called on the German government and parliament to support the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

For their part, members of the delegation said that the meeting aimed at discussing issues related to refugees and economic, educational and academic cooperation.
