Jordanian citizen detained in Libya returns home

AMMAN — Jordanian citizen Fadi Afara, who was arrested in Libya and detained for one year and four months, left Tripoli on Wednesday night and arrived at Queen Alia International Airport on Thursday evening, after the Libyan authorities released him, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Deifallah Fayez said that the ministry has made “relentless efforts” to release Afara, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
He said that Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Sialah informed Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi of the decision to release Afara over the phone, the statement added.
