AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday met with Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz at his residence in the Moroccan city of Tangier, a Royal Court statement said.

During the meeting, attended by Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, the two leaders asserted the "deep-rooted ties" between the two kingdoms enhanced by the Saudi-Jordanian Coordination Council and by the continuous coordination on various Arab and Islamic issues.

King Abdullah and King Salman also discussed developments in the Middle East and the means to deal with them to enhance regional security and stability.

The Saudi king hosted a banquet in honour of His Majesty and the accompanying delegation, attended by several Saudi senior officials.

King’s Military Adviser and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben, King’s Special Envoy to Saudi Arabia Bassem Awadallah, and National Policies Council Rapporteur Abdullah Wreikat attended the meeting.

From the Saudi side, several Saudi royal family members and senior officials attended the meeting.

King Abdullah had left the Kingdom earlier on Wednesday to meet King Salman in Morocco.

HRH Crown Prince Hussein was sworn in as Regent.

From Morocco, His Majesty is scheduled to travel to Edinburgh in Scotland to be the guest of honour at the 2016 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, one of the biggest military music shows to be held in Edinburgh Castle.

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is scheduled to begin on August 8 and continue through August 21, according to the event’s website.

Members of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army Musical Band, the Royal Honour Guard Group, and the Circassian Guard are scheduled to represent Jordan in the event.
