AMMAN — Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Muthana Gharaibeh and an accompanying delegation representing 30 Jordanian companies on Thursday attended a conference in Baghdad on digital transformation in the financial sector.

Gharaibeh discussed means of enhancing economic cooperation and the importance of sharing experience in the digital economy and in electronic payment services with Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Fuad Hussein.

Gharaibeh also highlighted the opportunities in Jordan in the telecommunications, information technology and economic sectors, as well as facilities for Iraq’s investors, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Gharaibeh also called on Iraq’s government to grant Jordanian companies the necessary facilities to enter the Iraqi market to sign contracts with institutions and companies from the private and public sectors.
