AMMAN — The Jordanian national team won 17 medals in the sixth edition of the Invictus Games, an international sporting event for wounded army veterans, which concluded on Saturday in the German city of Dusseldorf.

HH Prince Mired, president of the Hashemite Commission for Disabled Soldiers (HCDS), led the Jordanian delegation.

Jordanian players won seven gold, four silver and six bronze medals in the competition that witnessed the participation of more than 500 players from 21 countries competing in 10 games, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

A total of 16 members of the HCDS participated in the championship, representing Jordan in weightlifting, rowing and athletics — jumping, running, wheelchair racing, shot-put and discus throw.
